1) The American and European Kingdoms on the eve of Encounter

Page history last edited by PBworks 16 years, 9 months ago

There were many ways that the European and the Native American kingdoms were both similar and different. The Atzec, Maya and Inca were examples of Native American kingdoms. The Spanish, French and British are examples of European kingdoms. The ways that these people built their civilizations are very unique. They were similar politically and a little economically. They were different in some of their economy, religion and weapons.

The Native American and European kingdoms were very similar. Both Americans and Europeans went to war. War was something that  generally made kingdoms bigger. Another example of how they were similar was that both Europe and the Americas had some form of ruler. The ruler was a king who made sure their kingdoms were safe and strong. Both of the civilizations had a lot of land to farm, and raise animals. The Europeans had feudal manors, for example. Both also had interests in leaders and art. The Americans had built cities for leaders, and built large pyramid like mounds for art. Europeans had the Renaissance for art and gave land to leaders.

There were many ways that both the Europeans and the Native Americans were different. Europeans had gotten advanced by using money instead of barter for trade to get what they needed from other kingdoms. Another example of how they were different was their weapons. For weapons the Americans used spears and stones, while  Europeans  used catapults, cannons and guns.  The Europeans were Christians and believed in only one god. The Native Americans were polytheistic and believed in many gods.

Therefore the kingdoms in America and Europe during the 1400's had an interesting amount of similarities and differences.  Both civilizations were both unique in all ways.
